Greetings to all our citizens in the sky!
We're rounding the corner towards the end of March, and we're back with the latest Skyrise information and images!
Team Roxley just returned from a wildly successful PAX East convention, where Skyrise was on display and in action:
Looking beyond the convention prototype, approximately one-quarter of our Skyrise buildings are now fully approved!
Behold their glorious final approved-ness:
The approval process may be a bit slower than previous Roxley games, but making sure that each miniature looks and works exactly as we envisioned (and you expect!) is of critical importance.

To reiterate what has been shared in previous updates, once we have wash samples that have passed through final approval, we will share those images. The Pledge Manager will not close until the final wash sample has been shared with our backer community.

TL;DR: Wash Sample Nearly Approved, More Red Wax Samples to Show, Final option review for foil, 3D frame still tweaking.
Happy March! We're back with another brief update on production. Let's get into it...
Print - We will receive a second option for the type of foil finish used. Once that is decided, all print components will be ready.
3D Towers - Now that all of the building models are fully approved, we are receiving regular updates with more red wax models being made as we move toward mold making (see images).
3D Island Board - We continue to work towards finalizing all the 3D island frames. However, we have a proof of concept for the outer and inner frame approved, so the remaining 3 outer frames should follow suit with the same techniques and much less back and forth.
Wash Samples - After many iterations, we have received a wash effect that we are quite happy with for all 4 of the building colors. However, we are working with the manufacturer to try out one further tweak, which we feel will improve it further. Once we receive that sample, we should be ready to share some wash images. We will not close the pledge manager until we have an approved wash sample to share. For now, more red wax samples for your viewing pleasure!

Welcome to another short update. We are SO CLOSE! Check out the latest below.
We have decided to make the wooden wonder tokens twice as thick. This will make them stand with way better stability on the table.
We are still awaiting final iterations of the island 3D designs and the wash samples. We will share these as soon as we have approved versions!
The big news: We have arrived at designs for all 52 of the buildings and 4 blimps that are fully manufacturable. Here is a note from James giving us some insight: This is a massive milestone for us because it means that construction of the metal molds can now begin in full. These buildings have been tricky to produce, because we need them each to be 1 molded piece of plastic, but we also want them to have detail on every side and the top and a hole at the bottom for their number to fit in. The construction of a mold that can achieve all this is complicated. But after some iterations and great work by the manufacturer, we have landed on awesome solutions for every building. We have not had to compromise any of the miniature quality along the way. They are going to look phenomenal!

Hello, everyone, and welcome to another brief update. This is typical at this stage, as we are just making the final tweaks to go into full production mode. We are SO CLOSE! Check out the latest below.
Approved for Production: ALL print components! (except the box - *see below.)
Notable Items Still in Progress:
(the "see below"...) *The final box prototypes are in production. Once complete, they will ship to us for review.
We have arrived at a method that will work to produce the island frames to Roxley's quality expectations - YAY! We'll be ready to show you this, hopefully, in our next update.
The latest tweak on the wash for the 3D buildings is being worked on and will be sent for our review when it is completed.
We are moving ahead with red wax models for all of our buildings, which is the final precursor to actually creating the molds for them. Some photos of our red wax building samples are below:
20 Jan - Chinese New Year has Begun - Short Update Today.

TL;DR: CNY has begun, factories are closed for the holiday. But we do have a pretty bag to share!
Happy Chinese New Year to our backers and partners in China!
For those unaware, the Chinese New Year celebration starts now and goes until early February. (approx two weeks) That means our factory partner is Out of Office, and production work has been halted until they return. This happens every year and is all accounted for in our planning.
The big question we know you have right now is the wash sample. We are still not happy with how it looks, but we are getting closer. We will leave the cutoff date for adding the wash open until we are happy to share the results so you can make an informed decision about adding this option to your pledge.
We did get and approve the draw bag before the break - shown below!
